Biography

As an artist I enjoy hiking in the countryside and by the sea, capturing the scene and mood of the situation and place plein air in my sketchbooks. Back in the studio I use these sketches, memories and observations to express the feel, atmosphere and emotions of the place in my artworks. The work occupies a semi abstract area existing between reality and abstraction, capturing feelings, horizons and fleeting moments. On occasion works become more realist and sometimes more abstract, whilst leaving space for the viewer to interpret and make their own connections and response.
